SAHIB
Well, now that I’ve got a camera, I might as well start spicing up my blog with it on occasion.
Though I have a large vocabulary, I’m not exactly a world champion Scrabble player. It does appear that I’ve improved dramatically; sometimes I even make brilliant moves that would stun the best of them.
Long story short, last night I played a rather good game against my sister. I started with a lead of about 30 points, but when I kept getting terrible draws, and even had to trade in letters three times (six vowels…or three N’s…). By mid-game, she had an equally large lead on me. By the end, though, I managed to eke my way out to a tie, and on the penultimate turn, managed to secure a victory of three points. Quite the dramatic game.
I’m quite proud (yeah, I’m a dork) of a particular turn of mine. She played the word AXIS horizontally, and there was an S above the A. I thought for a minute, and suddenly realized that all the letters in SAHIB made real two-letter words if played right on top of AXIS (AX, HI, IS), and threw it down in triumph. (It was also on a double word score.) Check it out.

She challenged it, but alas, sahib is a word. Hurrah! A truly epic game of Scrabble.
